It was a field based reseach conducted in Urizagan province. The overal purpose was to collect data on number of aquifers and their recharge rate (groundwater), Local water demand (focused at the most important water demand), Intake systems, number of dug/tube wells, Irrigation (type of crops and area), Number of cattle, Domestic use: formal localities, refugee sites, informal settlements, Industrial use (tanneries, dairies, etc.), Hydropower (Salinisation & Quality of the drinking water), Local opinion regarding drinking water, Access to drinking water (walking distances and availability), Sickness due to drinking water ( Local planning initiatives regarding water resources infrastructure & Local water control- and distribution methods), Management of water resources (water rights, control and administration), Official and non-official distribution of power regarding water resources, Water rights of people / villages / tribes and Possible conflicts between the users.
